an opening for the position of
Associate Director of Development (Medicine & Health) , above grade 12.

I. Basic Functions: |
|
Builds and manages relationships with current and potential major donors (individuals and institutions) in order to increase philanthropic income for the University’s Medical Center. Plans and executes effective fundraising strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major donors for the Medical Center. Success will be measured in terms of the number and quality of new prospects engaged; the effectiveness of cultivation and stewardship activities; the number, quality and results of solicitations; and the achievement of ambitious fundraising targets (a minimum of $500,000 - $2 million annually). Collaboration with colleagues, faculty and senior leadership is essential. |

II. Minimum Requirements: |

Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s degree is a plus).

A minimum of five years of experience in major gift fundraising, preferably within the medical field, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, or related fields, with a demonstrated track record of success in generating philanthropic income.

In lieu of direct fundraising experience, seven years of experience in a field with strong public- facing transferable skills (eg marketing, sales, public relations, NGO administration, social work), preferably within the medical field, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, or related organizations, with a measurable track record of success in achieving demanding objectives.

Ability to prioritize and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.

Demonstrated ability to manage multi-functional and diverse projects and to deliver against measurable goals.

Ability to analyze situations, identify key information and issues, and advance objectives.

Fluency in English including excellent English- writing and verbal skills.

Working knowledge of Arabic preferred.

Excellent interpersonal skills, a diplomatic nature and cultural sensitivity.

Knowledge of Middle East and experience traveling and living in Middle East highly preferred.
-
Willingness to work evenings and travel as required.
